MEET OUR TEAM
Managing Principal

Mr. Hillman has been involved with private business enterprises over the course of his career, during which time he’s owned more than 30 companies in a wide variety of industries.

Mr. Hillman is an active partner and catalyst in each investment opportunity with which he’s involved, particularly within the FTL Capital portfolio set. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Automation Service (process control device remanufacturer) and as Executive Chairman of Pulse Therapeutics (biomedical company).

Mr. Hillman is General Partner of Lewis & Clark Ventures (venture capital equity growth fund headquartered in St. Louis). He serves on the Barnes Jewish Hospital Foundation Board, is on the Board of Trustees at Washington University in St. Louis, and serves on the World President’s Organization International Board.

Mr. Hillman has previously served as Director of Answers (internet lead generation and search engine company), founding shareholder and Board member of Hoover’s, Inc. (public business content and research company), and Founder/Partner/Director of Rainforest Aquaculture Products, Inc. (a tilapia fish producer). He was Board President of the Center of Creative Arts (St. Louis-based community performing arts center) and Chairman of the Young Presidents’ Organization – St. Louis chapter.

Mr. Hillman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

Director of Real Estate

Jason locates and evaluates investment opportunities for IronRock, monitors property and company performance and provides guidance to staff and ownership. Jason has over a decade of experience in real estate financing, planning, and development. Mr. King previously served as Vice President at the Laubacher Company, managing and consulting on the financing, construction, and operation of affordable housing. Mr. King has the credential of LEED AP Homes, serves on the Board of Directors of the Central West End Association, and is an invited lecturer at Washington University’s Brown School of Social Work.

Investor Relations Manager

Ms. Chapel manages all processes associated with the coordination of transactions, including but not limited to, the sale of credits to investors, the collection of all due diligence items, and framing transactions with outside counsel.  She currently administers private equity, venture capital, and growth equity funds within Lewis & Clark Real Estate, Lewis & Clark Ventures, and Lewis & Clark AgriFood where she handles all communication with investors, coordinates and collects subscription paperwork, provides accurate and detailed financial reports, and manages capital call and distribution-related activities.  Jessie has extensive experience processing and managing loan-based transactions totaling more than $750 million.  She previously served as Loan Administration Manager at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, where she managed a loan production team responsible for loan processing, closing, and funding tasks.  Prior to Wells Fargo, Ms. Chapel prepared lease documents and negotiated vendor contracts at Cassidy Turley.

Controller

Ms. Lane serves as the Controller for FTL Capital and a number of its portfolio companies including IronRock. Meg is responsible for all finance and accounting functions, assists the team with evaluation of new investment opportunities and supports management teams at other portfolio companies. In her professional career, she has worked with a diverse group of investment and private equity backed companies in a variety of industries such as financial services, real estate, manufacturing and health care.

Ms. Best has many years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience in a wide variety of industries, including Real Estate, Manufacturing, Wholesale, and Service. She has experience in financial reporting, implementation of new processes on an existing software system, payroll, benefit administration, working across multiple companies.

Operations Manager

Ms. Nardoni brings more than 15 years of proven operations and client advisory experience across the private equity and professional services industries to her role. Her broad skillset traverses numerous functions, enabling her to capably serve stakeholders both internal and external to the firm.
